The Doctors are In: Establishing, Implementing & Improving Your Campus Open Access Policy

 Registration is closed for this event
Bring your campus open access policy—or plans for creating a policy—for a checkup with experts on establishing, implementing, and improving institutional open access policies. A half-day, practical workshop co-sponsored by COAPI and SPARC will be held from 9:00am-12:30pm on Wednesday, March 9th, immediately following SPARC’s MORE meeting at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk.
Through small group discussions, our experts will provide specific feedback on your campus’ approach, as well as practical suggestions for improvements on everything from implementation to the text of the policy itself. The workshop will also emphasize best practices, with a short panel discussion covering topics such as:
  • Integrating your policy into repository ingest workflows;
  • How policies can address changing publisher article sharing policies; and,
  • Best practices for compliance.
The workshop will be structured to be useful for participants of all knowledge levels and at any stage of campus open access policy implementation, from those who are just beginning to consider a policy to those who have been working on implementation for years.
Registration is free but required and limited to 40 participants, so be sure to register early. A continental breakfast will be served before the workshop.
